Reiki is a Japanese word meaning Spirit, Soul or Universal God (Rei) and energy, force, or Breath of Life (Ki). It is traditionally translated as Universal Life Force. Reiki is one of many tools supporting physical, emotional, and spiritual healing. The essence of Reiki training is the attunements. The Reiki teacher takes specific steps during meditations to open a channel within the student for energy to flow. After the channel is made clearer between our earthly personality and the Spirit of Universal forces, shifts in our journeys often occur. Reiki training is a transformative experience.
Reiki I
In Reiki I the student receives four attunements and learns hand positions to use for giving healing energy to oneself and others. The Reiki II training includes two attunements and exercises to develop and strengthen intuition. The role of intuition in bodywork will be discussed, and students will receive and give intuitive Reiki sessions. Students will receive a handbook and certificate of course completion for each level.
Professional bodyworkers will receive 12 CEUs.
Reiki II
Students are taught three symbols to use in deepening their use of Reiki for themselves and others, continuing the journey of transformation begun in Reiki I. two attunements are given, enabling the practitioner be more focused in the energy stronger and more refined. Practice time with the symbols and several new Reiki techniques are included as well as time for personal sharing. A handbook and certificate is awarded to each student. Professional body workers will receive 12 ceus.
Attending a Reiki Share is a wonderful way of meeting other Reiki students, practitioners, teachers or those interested in finding out about Reiki. The concept of a Reiki share is for everyone attending to both give and receive Reiki healing in a supportive and loving environment. We have tables, Thai Cushion, bolsters and blankets available for use. We ask that all Reiki Practitioners continue rotation until everyone has had an opportunity to practice and experience Reiki Healing. We ask that folks come early so we can begin on time. The share will begin with an open circle so we can seal the space.
For those who may wish to build their confidence in giving treatments or for those who have little or no experience of using Reiki, these Shares create opportunities to learn, ask questions, share experiences and build confidence and knowledge. Reiki Practitioners can also benefit enormously from attending Reiki Shares so we can practice the art of self care, healing and harmony so we can therefore keep our vessels open and healthy when we practice giving. Reiki Shares are also a good way to meet other like-minded people and discuss experiences of using, receiving or training in Reiki.
Reiki Shares are held once a month and serve to be a focal point for ongoing contact and support. A typical share can last up to 2 1/2 hours and there is always time for discussion at the beginning and the end of the healing sessions.
Participating in a Reiki share is very beneficial to the individual and to the whole group collectively. It is an amazing experience to be part of a group, meeting together, to heal and be healed.
All Shares are held at My BodYoga in the Yoga Shala.
We also encourage you to schedule a private Reiki Session at anytime with our Reiki Practitioners by appointment only in our healing room.
This 20 hour certification course offered to all students who have at least a Reiki First Degree Attunement. We will be guiding students through an energetic experience as we combine the Art of Yoga ancient wisdom of Reiki which is a Japanese word meaning Spirit, Soul or Universal God (Rei) and energy, force, or Breath of Life (Ki).
