"Be still, and know that I am God." — Psalm 46:10 NIV
Biblical meditation is not the emptying of the mind. It is the filling of the mind — with God's Word, His character, His promises, and His presence. Where Eastern and New Age meditation practices ask you to clear your thoughts, detach from self, or open yourself to universal energy, Christian meditation does the opposite: it anchors you more deeply to the living God through Scripture, prayer, and intentional focus on who He is.
This distinction matters. Practices that encourage a passive, empty mental state — whether called mindfulness, transcendental meditation, or guided visualization with no spiritual anchor — can open the door to spiritual confusion or deception. We do not practice those things here. Every session at My BodYoga is rooted in the Word of God, held in the name of Jesus, and guided by the Holy Spirit.

Drawing from decades of guiding people into stillness, Alice now brings every gift — breath, sound, presence, and prayer — under the lordship of Jesus Christ.
A Christ-centered gathering where women come together in Scripture, prayer, and community—bringing our gratitude, burdens, needs, and petitions before God and praying for one another.
Drawing from years of experience in communication coaching, compassionate listening, and supporting people through life’s challenges and transitions, Alice creates a welcoming space where women can feel heard, supported, and comfortable sharing what is on their hearts.
Each gathering begins by turning our attention toward God and His Word, with time for Scripture, quiet reflection, and prayer. Together, we make space to listen—to God’s Word and to one another—with compassion and without the need to fix or advise.
You may be invited to share a prayer request, pray with another woman, or join the group in intercession for the needs of others. Anonymous requests may also be placed in a prayer bowl, allowing us to pray together while honoring each woman’s privacy. At times, a request may become a shared focus as we lift that person—and others carrying similar burdens—before God.
There may also be opportunities to pray with a partner, sharing only what you feel comfortable sharing and simply listening and praying for one another.
Women who desire personal prayer may also have an opportunity to receive prayer with a gentle laying on of hands, a practice seen in Scripture. This is always optional and offered only with permission. There is never pressure to share personal details, receive physical touch, or participate in a particular way.
Before leaving, you may be invited to take an anonymous prayer request with you and continue praying for that person in the days ahead—a simple way of carrying one another in prayer beyond our time together.
There is no technique to master and no promised outcome. Our trust is in God. With Scripture as our foundation, we listen with compassion, pray for one another, and entrust every person, every burden, and every outcome to Him.
“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.”
— Galatians 6:2
“Pray for each other…”
— James 5:16
Women’s Prayer Gatherings • Freely Offered
Journey of the Heart is a 75-minute Christ-centered gathering created to step away from the noise, open God’s Word, and spend unhurried time in His presence.
Through Guided Scripture Meditation (Lectio Divina), Alice gently leads you through a passage of Scripture with spoken reflection, biblical imagery, prayer, and moments of silence. You may be invited to linger with Christ as the Good Shepherd, rest with His invitation to “Come to me,” or reflect upon the living water, the vine and branches, and other beautiful images God has given us through His Word.
Rather than emptying the mind, we turn our attention toward God and His Word—listening, reflecting, praying, and allowing Scripture to draw our hearts toward Him.
Music and worship are woven throughout the gathering. Alice uses frame drum, singing bowls, bells, and other instruments to accompany Scripture, prayer, and worship. At times, we may hum, sing familiar worship songs, or simply listen and become still before God.
Scripture gives us beautiful examples of praising God through singing, instruments, percussion, and movement (Psalm 150:3–6; Exodus 15:20–21). Bells also appear in Scripture in the garments of the high priest as he ministered before the Lord (Exodus 28:33–35).
You may be invited to stand, sing, or gently move in worship, while others may choose to remain seated in prayer or stillness. There is nothing to perform and nothing to achieve. Each person is welcome to participate in the way that allows them to remain prayerfully attentive to God.
The instruments are not used for sound healing or as a means of accessing God. They are simply instruments offered in worship. Our attention remains on Christ, His Word, prayer, and worship.
There is space here for wonder and reverence, questions and gratitude, and the things you are carrying. This is not about mastering a technique or seeking a particular experience. It is an invitation to know God through His Word, speak with Him through prayer, worship Him through music and movement, and rest in the mystery and beauty of who He is.
