Somatic simply means bringing attentive awareness to the body.
Somatic Creative Movement invites you to notice sensation, posture, breathing, effort, comfort, and movement with curiosity rather than judgment or performance.
You don't need to be flexible, coordinated, or experienced. Movement is gentle and adaptable, emphasizing mobility, body awareness, nervous-system support, and caring for your body with respect.
There is no pressure to perform, push through pain, or make your body conform to a particular shape.
This is not yoga philosophy or a spiritual-awakening practice. We do not incorporate chakras, kundalini, energy centers, mantras, deities, manifestation, or claims of hidden spiritual power.
It is simply an opportunity to move, breathe, notice, explore, and care for your body.
For those who desire a Christian experience, Christ-centered movement, Scripture, and prayer may also be incorporated into select classes and private sessions.
A Polyvagal-informed approach helps us understand how the nervous system may respond to stress, connection, safety, and uncertainty.
Rather than judging our responses, we learn to notice what is happening in the body with greater curiosity and compassion.
Practices may include gentle movement, body awareness, natural breathing, orienting, rhythm, music, rest, and supportive connection—always with choice and respect for personal boundaries.
This approach does not diagnose, treat, or promise to “reset” the nervous system or heal the vagus nerve. It is simply a framework for supporting awareness, movement, relaxation, connection, and a better understanding of our responses to stress.
