Guided by Love. Come as You Are.

Guided by Love. Come as You Are.Guided by Love. Come as You Are.

Exploring Spiritual Beliefs Through Scripture

Dig in and Discover

The Bible has much to say about spiritual discernment, worship, seeking guidance, and placing our trust in God.

As I've explored the origins of different spiritual teachings and practices, I've come to recognize the importance of understanding not only what we practice, but also the beliefs and philosophies behind them.

There are many more passages woven throughout Scripture. Here are just a few I'd like to share with you.

Understanding Yoga's Spiritual Origins

The word yoga comes from the Sanskrit root yuj, meaning to yoke, join, or unite. Yoga has deep roots in Indian religious and philosophical traditions. In some Hindu teachings, particularly Advaita Vedanta, spiritual liberation involves realizing that Atman (the true Self) is identical with Brahman (ultimate reality). Other yoga traditions understand liberation and union differently.

Christianity teaches that God is our Creator and that we are His creation, made in His image. Our relationship with God is through Jesus Christ, rather than realizing that we are ourselves the ultimate divine reality.

Scriptures to explore: Genesis 1:27 | Romans 1:25 | John 14:6 | Colossians 2:8.

Reincarnation, Karma & Eternal Life

The Bible teaches about one earthly life, accountability before God, and salvation through Jesus Christ.

Scriptures: Hebrews 9:27 | John 14:6 | Ephesians 2:8–9

Divination, Witchcraft & Consulting Spirits

Scripture warns against divination, sorcery, consulting mediums, and seeking guidance from the dead.

Scriptures: Deuteronomy 18:10–12 | Leviticus 19:31 | Isaiah 8:19

Idolatry & Worshiping Other Gods

Scripture teaches worship of God alone and warns against worshiping idols, other deities, or created things.

Scriptures: Exodus 20:3–5 | Romans 1:25 | 1 Corinthians 10:14

Spiritual Philosophies, Reiki, Yoga & Energy Practices

Although the Bible does not specifically name every modern spiritual practice, it encourages believers to examine spiritual teachings carefully and discern whether they align with Christ.

Scriptures: Colossians 2:8 | 1 John 4:1 | 1 Thessalonians 5:21

Manifestation, Higher Consciousness & Trusting God

Scripture encourages us to seek God's wisdom, renew our minds, and trust in His guidance rather than relying on our own spiritual authority.

Scriptures: Proverbs 3:5–6 | Romans 12:2 | James 4:13–15

An Invitation to Explore

These are only a few of the many Scriptures addressing spiritual beliefs, worship, and discernment.

I encourage you to do your own due diligence. Read the passages in their full biblical context, explore the origins and teachings behind spiritual practices, ask thoughtful questions, and study for yourself.

Don't simply take my word for it, or anyone else's. Open your Bible, explore, question, and seek understanding.

I share these reflections with love, not judgment. My own journey has led me back to Jesus Christ, and my hope is to encourage others to seek truth with an open heart.

Rooted in God's Word

Dig in and Discover

Throughout Scripture, we are reminded to worship God alone, seek His wisdom, and carefully examine the spiritual teachings and influences in our lives.

There are many passages woven throughout the Bible on these subjects. Here are just a few I'd like to share with you.

God Alone Is Worthy of Worship

Exodus 20:3 | Isaiah 45:5 | Matthew 4:10

Idolatry, Divination & Spiritual Guidance

Deuteronomy 18:10–12 | Leviticus 19:31 | 1 John 5:21

Meditation, Stillness & God's Word

Psalm 46:10 | Psalm 1:2 | Romans 12:2

Testing Spirits & Spiritual Discernment

1 John 4:1 | 1 Thessalonians 5:21 | Colossians 2:8

An Invitation to Explore

I encourage you to do your own due diligence. Open your Bible, read these passages in context, explore their meaning, and examine the teachings and practices you encounter.

Don't simply take my word for it, or anyone else's. Study, ask questions, and seek understanding for yourself.

Exploring the Roots of Spiritual Practices

Dig in and Discover

I don't claim to be a scholar or expert in the many religions, philosophies, and spiritual traditions represented here. My own journey has included years of studying and exploring different teachings, and I've come to realize how important it is to understand not only what we're practicing, but also the beliefs and philosophies that may be connected to those practices.

These visuals are simply introductory references, offering a glimpse into some of the traditions and ideas that may influence modern yoga, meditation, wellness practices, and spiritual exploration. They are not intended to represent every belief or teaching within these diverse traditions.

My hope is that they'll inspire you to become curious, ask thoughtful questions, explore the history for yourself, and consider how these teachings align with your own beliefs.

As I've returned more deeply to God's Word, I've learned the importance of examining what I once accepted without questioning.

My invitation is simple: Don't just take my word for it. Explore, ask questions, examine the teachings, and seek to understand what you're practicing, where it comes from, and what it means to you.

An Invitation, Not a Judgment

What if God has been closer than you realized?

If some of these practices or beliefs are part of your life today, this isn't meant to shame you, diminish your experiences, or imply that I know everything and you don't.

I'm simply sharing what I have come to see differently in my own life.

My invitation is to bring everything into the light and examine it for yourself. Ask where it comes from, what it teaches, what it asks you to believe, and where it ultimately leads.

Maybe you believe in God. Maybe you follow another spiritual path. Maybe you're completely content with what you believe. Maybe you're questioning everything. Or maybe you don't believe in God at all.

Wherever you are, you are welcome here.

One of the most beautiful things I have come to understand about Jesus is that this isn't simply a story about us searching for God.

It's also a story about a God who already knows us.

Before we have everything figured out. Before we know what questions to ask. Before we even think to look for Him.

And yet He still invites us to seek Him.

β€œYou will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” β€” Jeremiah 29:13

Scripture also says:

β€œTest everything; hold fast what is good.” β€” 1 Thessalonians 5:21

So you don't have to fear the questions.

Examine. Ask. Seek.

And perhaps, wherever you are in your journey, simply leave a little room for this question:

What if God has been closer than you realized?
